Submit reports on status of SC/ST problems, officials told

Eluru: Andhra Pradesh SC/ST Commission Chairman Karem Sivaji, has said that the Commission is committed in solving the problems of the Scheduled Caste and Tribals in the state. He conducted a grievance cell at ZP meeting hall here on Wednesday and received representations from the people.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Commission was discussing with the Government to solve the problems of the SC/STs in the state. He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was striving to solve the problems of the SCs and STs in the state. He suggested district officials to take special care in solving the problems of the SCs and STs. He also directed them to submit their reports on the action taken in respect of the representations. He warned that action would be initiated against those officials who did not submit the reports properly.

The SC organisation president, Santosh Kumar represented the Chairman to sanction sites to the STs and SCs in Kolleru lake area. Fishermen Association president Junupudi Pullaiah submitted a representation to the Chairman to direct the officials concerned to sanction loans to the Sitarama Fishermen Society members of Tirumalampalem village in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal. He said that about 283 members of the society did not get the loans. He said if the loans were sanctioned, the fishermen would purchase motorbikes and autos for their livelihood.

Joint Collector-II MH Sheriff, Social Welfare Deputy Director JR Lakshmi Devi, SC, ST State Commissioner Members Sudharani, Dr K Raja Rao and others participated in the programme.
