Gutkha worth `4 lakh seized

Ongole: The Ongole Police arrested one person for stocking, distributing and selling of banned Gutkha, Khaini and other tobacco products on Thursday.

The Ongole DSP, B Srinivasa Rao informed that Bollineni Srinu, a native of Karavadi village near Ongole took a house in Kesavaraku Kunta in Ongole for personal purpose. He used the house as a godown and stocked large quantity of banned Gutkha and Khaini packets he brought from Karnataka. 

He was supplying the products to various shops at higher prices.On information, the Taluk CI, Ganga Venkateswarlu, SI D Rajarao and their staff arrested him and seized various brands of Gutkha and Khaini worth Rs 4 lakh from him. The DSP said that the arrested person was already arrested earlier in the same type of crime and was on bail.
