SFI, DYFI lead protests
Vijayawada: Student Federation of India (SFI) and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) jointly organised an innovative protest against the Union government, demanding that the BJP-led government provide two crore jobs for the unemployed youth. They tied ropes to their neck and protested at Lenin Centre here on Friday.
They wanted the Centre to accord Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh. They condemn the comments made by Central ministers against five crore people of the State. The leaders asked the state and central governments to put an end to the four years of drama on SCS. They appealed to students and youth of the state to join the fight against the BJP government to prove their integrity.
They warned both TDP and BJP governments that the youth and students of the state would teach them a lesson in the days to come. They further demanded the BJP leaders and members to leave the party and join the students and youth to fight for SCS. They said it was inappropriate to Central minister Arun Jaitley to comment on the sentiments of Andhra people.
They demanded the BJP government to implement bifurcation promises and accord SCS which were promised at the time of bifurcation of the state. DYFI leaders T Praveen, SK Nizaam, Keshav, SFI leaders Prasanna, N Koti, Ch Sumanth and others were present.
