Ex-minister vows to get funds from Centre

Guntur: Former minister P Manikyala Rao, has said he will ensure no funds problem arise for the ongoing development works at Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University.

He along with MLC Madhav visited the NG Ranga Agriculture University at Lam here on Thursday and inspected the construction works going on the university premises. They interacted with the university Vice-Chancellor and enquired about progress of buildings construction works. The officials informed that they had constructed administrative building and added that  the Centre had released Rs 130 crore.

They said that they had set the foundation for the construction of hostel building at a cost of Rs 90 crore and added that they had sent DPR  to the Centre requesting to release Rs 800 crore. So far the Centre released Rs 130 crore. They informed that they need another Rs 400 crore to construct the labs in the university which were useful for research.

Speaking to the media, the former minister said that the government did not allot any land for the university till 2017. As a result, the Centre released funds recently and assured that he would try to get funds from the Centre. He said that the Centre was extending necessary help to the state. MLC Madhav said that they would meet the Union ministers and try to get funds.
