Student JAC to intensify agitation for SCS

Guntur: Students under the banner of State Youth and Students JAC on Friday paid tributes to Potti Sriramulu at a programme held on the ANU premises on the occasion of his 118th death anniversary.

They took out a rally and later organised human chain. The JAC state president, Koti Yadav stressed on Special Category Status and need to conduct agitation for the SCS. Later, they conducted ‘paalabhishekam’ to the portrait of the Potti Sriramulu.

Addressing the gathering, TDP Guntur city president Chandu Sambasiva Rao explained need to get SCS and extended his support for students agitation. He said that the students should intensify agitation for the SCS and continue it till they get it. He reminded that the TDP ministers also resigned from the Union cabinet for SCS. He explained steps taken by the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu for the development of state. In spite of resource crunch, the CM was continuing welfare schemes, he added.
