Collector hopeful on construction of capital in new-year
Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar, has said Ugadi Pachadi symbolises blend of happiness and sorrow in life. He addressed a meeting held at Revenue Kalyana Mandapam here on Sunday. He conveyed Vilambi Nama Samvatsaram greetings to people.
Speaking on this occasion, he wished Telugu new-year should bring many fortunes to the people. Stating that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had prepared plans for the construction of the state capital during last year, the Collector wished CM’s efforts would translate into action during this year. He said that during last year, they had saved a child who fell in the deep bore well in Palnadu. However, a few people died of diarrhea which was very unfortunate.
He said that the district was in the forefront in implementing welfare schemes. He appreciated the district administration for its efforts to reduce mother and child deaths, conduct skill development programmes and construct toilets in rural areas.
He explained that the administration would take steps to supply fresh drinking water to the people of city. They would take measures to supply drinking water during the summer. They had filled drinking water tanks and instructed officials to set up water kiosks. They would conduct training programmes to the youth. MLC AS Rama Krishna, Guntur Mirchi Yard chairman Mannava Subba Rao were also present.
