14 held for gutkha trade, stocks worth Rs 9.44 lakh seized

Kandukur: The Kandukur police arrested 14 persons in connection with the illegal stocking and distribution of banned gutkha and khaini products in the area and seized stock worth Rs 9.44 lakh along with two cars.

Kandukur DSP K Prakasarao said that the illegal trading of gutkha and khaini was increased in the area and a vigil was kept up, following the orders from the SP BS Yesubabu. The police suspected Shaik China Nyamatulla, Vemula Srinivasarao alias Navya Srinu for involvement in the trading and monitoring them for few days. 

After a credible information that the accused was exchanging the stock with other traders on Friday morning, the Kandukur SI Ch Prabhakara Rao formed two teams aKandukur police nd raided the spot near CTRI in the suburbs of Kandukur.

The DSP said that the traders tried to hit the police with their cars but they managed to take the traders into custody. The DSP appreciated and rewarded the SI and his team for taking the 14 member team into custody even by risking their lives.
