Devotion marks Sri Rama Navami

Eluru: Sri Rama Navami festival was celebrated in various parts of West Godavari district on Sunday with devotion.  Temples across the district witnessed large gatherings of devotees on the occasion.  The priests performed the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and his consort Sita, in the temples.

In Chataparru village in Eluru rural mandal, Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu), his wife Maganti Padma Valli Devi performed the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita.Eluru MLA Badeti Kota Rama Rao and others participated in the programme.

The MP offered prayers to Lord Rama to bless the Andhra Pradesh people with the Special Category Status (SCS). Speaking on the occasion, Maganti Babu said that he had performed the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita and prayed for the SCS to the State. Chataparru, the village that produced several stalwarts in political and cine field is the native village of Eluru MP.

MLC Ramu Surya Rao offered special prayers at the Abhaya Anjaneya Swamy Temple in District Courts Centre in Eluru town.  Temple Development Committee members DD Prasad and G Anjani Kumar participated in the programme.

The Police Line Dasanjaneya Swamy Temple Committee president, P Ravindra said that Sri Rama Navami celebrations would be conducted at the temple from Monday to March 30 at the temple.

The Eluru MLA participated in the Sri Rama Navami festivities held in the temples at Powerpeta, Vinayak Nagar and Eastern Street areas. The temples fully packed with the devotees. Priests performed the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita at the temples and offered the Prasadam to the Lord and distributed to the devotees.
