Govt keen to develop Kovvuru: Minister
Kovvuru: Excise Minister KS Jawahar has said that steps have been taken to develop Kovvuru Municipality by providing necessary infrastructure.
The minister formally started the Garbage Compactor truck at Kovvur Municipal Office on Monday. The compactor truck was provided at a cost of Rs 32 lakh by Swachandra Corporation to improve sanitation in the town.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had decided to make every town and village a healthy and clean for the health of the people. He requested people to cooperate to make the town as Swaccha Kovvuru. The garbage compactor truck would benefit the municipal sanitation staff to shift the household garbage to the dumping yards.
Kovvuru Municipal chairperson J Radha Rani, municipal vice-chairman D Raja Ramesh, Commissioner T Nagendra Kumar, J Subbaraya Chowdary, Pantru Srinivasa Rao and M Ramesh participated in the programme.
