Three scholars of city to be felicitated at Town Hall today

 Rajamahendravaram: Kandukuri Veeresalingam Panthulu Town Hall president Madduri Siva Subba Rao said that the Town Hall Trust Board decided to felicitate three great scholars of the historical city on Friday.

Speaking to media here on Thursday, Rao said the felicitation function would be held on at 5:00 pm on the premises of Town Hall. Justice V Rama Subramanyam and Justice D Bulusu Siva Shankar Rao of High Court would participate as chief guests. 

Town Hall honorary president Yatagiri Srirama Narasimha Rao and elite of the city would also grace the event. He appealed to the people to participate in the felicitation function of great scholars of the city.

He informed that plans were on the cards to bring past glory to the Town Hall which was constructed 160-year-ago by Kandukuri Veeresalingam Panthulu, which was also first of its kind in the state.

Earlier, many stage plays were staged in the open air auditorium and now trying to provide facilities to stage the plays, he added.
At present Town Hall is getting nominal rents from the shops though it was centrally located and the hall management was trying to enhance the rents as per existing market rates.
