CPM protests over petrol price hike

Bhimavaram: Activists of CPM staged a dharna at Prakasam Chowk here on Thursday, in protest against the hike in the petrol and diesel prices by the Centre.The CPM workers rallied in the town and reached Prakasam Chowk in the afternoon. They raised slogans against the Centre and demanded that the Centre rollback the prices of diesel and petrol immediately.

The CPM Bhimavaram Committee secretary B Vasudeva Rao said the prices of essential commodities had skyrocketed abnormally after the BJP came to power at the Centre. As the prices of petrol and diesel were also on the rise, the middle-class people were facing hardships. 

He demanded that the Centre rollback the hike of the petrol and diesel rates. The CPM town leaders, M Vykuntha Rao, Kalipindi Satyanarayana, Chellaboina Venkateswara Rao, Bokka Rambabu, Yatam Nageswara Rao and others participated in the dharna.
