Kin of murdered mosque caretaker get ex-gratia

Rajamahendravaram: Minister for Excise and Prohibition KS Jawahar has said that the state government is implementing many schemes for the welfare of minorities. 

He distributed a cheque for Rs 10 lakh towards ex-gratia to the family members of Farooq, a mosque caretaker, who was brutally murdered during December in the mosque.He said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was very much particular about minorities’ welfare.

He informed that Chandranna Tofa programme was designed exclusively for minorities. The government had allotted an amount of Rs 1,102 crore this year for the welfare of minorities in the state. In united Andhra Pradesh, a sum of Rs 250 crore was allotted for the wellbeing of minorities, he reminded.

MLC Shariff said it was an unfortunate thing that Farooq was killed. The government deputed five teams and nabbed the accused in a short period. The government had sent the body of Farooq to Bihar on its own and now gave the ex-gratia. 

Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation came forward to bear the repair expenditure of the mosque.City MLA Dr Akula Satyananrayana, Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, Mayor Panthan Rajani Sesha Sai, GUDA chairman Ganni Krishna, Sub-Collector CM Saikanth Varma and others were present.
