RMC deviates from master plan, irks citizens
Rajamahendravaram: The Municipal Corporation (RMC) which is constructing drains in the city as per master plan, has been receiving criticism from various quarters for its step-motherly attitude. The RMC set aside Devi Chowk and main road and not constructing drains for various reasons. Many people have been questioning what prompted RMC to leave the construction of drains in the two areas.
A Purushottam, a resident of the city said RMC officials set aside the two areas because of political pressure, though markings were given. “The act of RMC officials is sending wrong signals to the people. They are puzzled over possible problems if the RMC goes ahead with its plan in constructing drains in the two areas,” he questioned. The two areas were also included in the master plan, he revealed.
He demanded that the corporation construct drains in the two areas also on par with other parts of the city.
