Meeku Memunnam to boost confidence in minor girls: SP

Guntur: Urban Superintendent of Police Ch Vijaya Rao urged the parents to keep watch on their minor girls while going to schools and returning from the schools.Rao said that they had taken steps to create confidence in minor girls and their families and introduced ‘Meeku Memunnam’ programme.He stressed on need to watch her while playing at the house.

He stressed on need to take care of minor girls in the backdrop of increasing atrocities on the minor girls and urged the parents take care of their minor girls.While returning from schools, the SP suggested the parents, pick up their daughters. If not possible, send their relatives to pick them up. 

He advised parents to keep watch on the persons with whom their girl children were playing. He warned that if anybody misbehave with the minor girls, they would take stern action and book cases against them.

He said that they were conducting awareness programmes to the parents and conducting campaign for their safety. He also called upon the parents to watch the minor girls while they were using internet and cell phones.

He said that they were conducting awareness programmes on good touch and bad touch to the students and added that they were engaging vans which would screen the films and explain the impact of bad touch to the girls and their parents. He said that if they anybody misbehaves with the minor girls, communicate to the dial 100 to take further action.
