CPM protests hike in fuel prices

Ongole: The CPM organised a rally in Ongole, Podili and other areas of the district on Tuesday, to register its protest over increasing fuel prices.

Leaders of the party said that the prices were so high that the public were unable to use any vehicle. They demanded that the government immediately regulate the prices.As part of the nationwide protest, the CPM leaders at Ongole pulled an auto-rickshaw from Sundaraiah Bhavan to Sagar Center.

The CPM East Prakasam district secretary Punati Anjaneyulu alleged that the Central government was imposing burden on the public whenever the crude oil rate was increased. At the same time, it was not decreasing the price when the crude oil price was reduced in the international market.He demanded that the government introduce GST on crude oil and control the price immediately.

The CPM Podili regional secretary, M Ramesh reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to control the fuel prices in just 100 days of his attaining power but failed to keep his promise. He also wanted the government to control the prices immediately and save farmers from unnecessary expenses in transportation, fuel for motors etc.
