Municipal teachers seek revival of old pension scheme

 Guntur: Municipal Teachers Federation demanded that the government revive old pension system instead of Contributory Pension Scheme to the municipal teachers and GPF immediately.

The Municipal Teachers Federation state meet held in Guntur city passed resolutions to this effect.The MTF state president, S Rama Krishna released the resolutions passed in the state conference here on Sunday.

He felt that there was a need to set up directorate for municipal teachers in the state and set up regional director posts, DEOs posts for municipal corporations, deputy director posts for municipalities. He said that the meeting urged the government to promote qualified headmasters as MEOs.

He urged the government to give permission for inter-district transfers for municipal teachers for spouses, on medical grounds, mutual transfers and request transfers. He said that the meeting urged the government to start English medium in all the municipal schools parallel to the Telugu medium and added that the government should start English medium in the new schools.
