Sarees stealing gang busted

Vijayawada:  The city crime police nabbed a nine-member women gang of thieves, who stole sarees, from the shops. These gang members enter the shops as buyers and steal the sarees. On a tip-off, police conducted  a raid in an apartment in Yanamalakudur on Thursday and nabbed the gang leader Kampa Ratnalu (40) and her eight associates.

Other gang members are Devarakonda Subhashini, Devarakonda Sarada, Katta Yashoda, Sadupati Venkateswaramma and Sadupati Tirupatamma all belong to Ramalingeswara Nagar, Vijayawada. 

Chadala Kanaka Durga of Tadepalli, Guntur district, Ponnuru Malli and Chilukuri Nagamani alias Bujji of Chevituru village in G Konduru mandal.  The police seized seven sarees valued at Rs.20,000. The gang recently stole seven sarees in a shop in Tadigadapa Centre under Penamaluru police station limits. The gang members will stay in rented houses for a few months to steal sarees and flee after stocking enough sarees.
