Water connections for all in Krishna disrict
Vijayawada: Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT Nara Lokesh announced that all the households in the villages of Krishna district would be provided water connections by June this year. Speaking at the Janmabhoomi programme at Poranki village in Krishna district on Wednesday, he said the government aimed at providing water connections to every house hold in the state as early as possible.
As many as 157 villages would be provided underground drainage. People going around the government offices would become a thing of the past, he asserted. Now, the officials should come to the doorsteps of the people, he said and underscored the importance of fifth round of Janmabhoomi.
The government would give ratings like platinum, gold, silver and bronze for villages in the state based on their performance and taking into consideration various parameters, he said. He commented that the brides would select the bridegrooms in villages based on village ratings in future.
The government has allotted Rs 45 crore for cleaning overhead tanks, he said and added the auto sensors also would be connected to check quality of water. The pure drinking water would be supplied for all the villages by introducing auto chlorination. The panchayat raj department has taken responsibility to maintain cleanliness in the villages. The government introduced insurance scheme by assuring compensation of Rs 5 lakh and various health schemes are being provided under the NTR Vaidya Seva, he pointed out.
The people of delta are happy with the merger of Krishna and Godavari rivers. He said the farming community reaped rich dividends. The government increased pension amount from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000 though the government was facing financial crunch. The uninterrupted power is being supplied to entire state, he said.
The government is implementing many welfare schemes and development programmes amidst Rs 16,000 crore financial deficit. Development is possible, thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, he pointed out. The minister distributed agriculture tools and tractors to the farmers.
MP Konakalla Narayana, Penamuluru MLA Bode Prasad, MLCs Yalamanchali Babu Rajendraprasad, B Arjunudu, Collector B Lakshmikantham, panchayat raj department commissioner Ramanjaneyulu, Poranki sarpanch Vemuri Swarupa Rani and several officials were also present.
