No social justice in AP, say leaders

Tirupati: The meeting between two former Ministers Mudragada Padmanabham and Chinta Mohan in Tirupati on Thursday focused on reuniting the forces based on social justice. 

For quite some time Chinta Mohan was pointing out that two communities have ruled the state for almost 60 years and social justice was completely ignored. In this backdrop, Mudragada, who has been fighting for Kapu reservation, has closeted with Chinta in Tirupati at the latter’s residence for nearly two hours and the two leaders discussed various issues prevailing in the state. 

Giving scope for speculation that Mudragada may join the Congress. Chinta Mohan, who is maintaining close relations with him in recent times, has visited Kirlampudi on several occasions and held discussions.

To reciprocate, Mudragada visited Mohan’s house during his visit to Tirupati. But, the two leaders never uttered a word openly about their future strategy. Both leaders gave a call to OBCs, Kapu community and Dalits to fight unitedly on various issues. They observed that except in Andhra Pradesh other 25 states have seen social justice by giving power to leaders from OBCs, Dalits and minorities. 

Contrary, in Andhra Pradesh, a single community has ruled for 40 years whereas another community has ruled 20 years and as a result the leaders from other communities were deprived of their rights. Mohan alleged that, “it was unfortunate that a 35-year-old man wants to become Chief Minister by making padayatra though their community had ruled in the combined state for 40 years”.

In the same breath, he mentioned, “representing the community which ruled the state for 20 years and completing his 15 years as Chief Minister soon, the leader was dreaming to become Chief Minister again in the name of Polavaram”.

This is nothing but their thirst for power as they want to rule more than 90 per cent of population though their communities represent only 6 per cent of the total population in the state. The rulers so far, have pushed the state into hunger and unemployment. In view of this injustice, the people of other communities who were more than 90 per cent should come to power and bring social justice in the state.

On the other hand, Mudragada made it clear that only when Kapu population gets BC certificate from MRO offices they will make a real festival and not Sankranti. He reiterated his deadline of March 31 and by then the reservation for Kapu community should get the legal sanctity. About Pawan Kalyan, Mudragada said he never met the Jana Sena leader. “I don’t know whether he is a Kapu leader. We cannot force anyone to come into agitation”.
