Chandrababu Naidu announces 19 lakh houses for weaker sections

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced his government would construct 19 lakh houses for the weaker sections of the society in the state at a cost of Rs 50,000 in the next one-and-a-half years.

The Chief Minister participated in the fifth phase of Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme at Dharmasagaram village in Narsipatnam Assembly constituency on Friday. Addressing the public meeting, Chandrababu stated that the government would complete the construction of 2.5 lakh houses soon and house warming for another 2.5 lakh houses would be organised shortly.

He further said the government had spent Rs 265 crore towards Chandranna Bima Scheme in the state and assured people of adding more beneficiaries to the scheme. To provide financial assistance to the senior citizens and others, the government has sanctioned 50 lakh pensions so far, he stated and added that the living standards of people has improved in the last three-and-a-half years due to government efforts.

He appreciated the Dharmasagaram village for becoming a role model to other villages in the state by implementing all the government schemes. 
The Chief Minister congratulated Ch Padmavathi, wife of Minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, who adopted the village.

Naidu spent a leisure time in the village and played chess with the students and watched the students play volleyball and kabbadi. Chandrababu announced a special grant of Rs 5 crore each to Elamanchili and Narsipatnam municipalities.

Speaking on the occasion, Ayyanna Patrudu said that 65,000 acres in his constituency would come under irrigation once the Polavaram Project is completed. He thanked the Chief Minister for extending support for the development of Narsipatnam constituency.
