Five times MP and Narasaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said the MPs came for the lunch because the railways would serve variety of tasty dishes. The MP had shared his views with the media at the Traction Drivers Training Centre where the South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav held discussions with the MPs.

Sambasiva Rao said the railways could have hold the meeting at least in November or December 2017. He said the budget copies are ready for printing and pointed out what is the benefit of convening a meeting with the MPs just days before the printing of budget copies.

Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy said the MPs did not have say on setting up of railway zone for Andhra Pradesh.  Responding to the comments made by the MPs, the SCR GM Vinod Kumar said the railway authorities are taking representations throughout the year from the MPs, people and their demands are conveyed to the Railway Board and Railway Minister.
