AP Govt To Shift Residential Complexes In Amaravathi
The sudden stoppage of works taken up for the construction of residential complexes for government employees in Amaravathi gave strong indication that government is planning alter the lands allotted for the purpose at Rayapudi and Nelapadu in The new capital Amaravati area.
As part of the master plan, Government decided to construct the residential complex on 85 lakh square feet. The contract agencies L and T, Shapurjee and NCC already taken up works. For the last 10 days, the works came to a grinding halt.
Already 1700 piles were laid for residential complexes . Officials said that on the instructions of the government, the agencies slowed down works and hinted the lands alloted for construction will be changed. Crores of rupees were also spent.
Officials said that government is also planning to shift the administrative buildings from the lands allotted to other places. The decision to shift the buildings to other place will put heavy burden on contract agencies.
