Kid drowns in tank

Nellore: A student drowned in a tank at Undurugunta in Atmakur mandal on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Sk Ismail (8). According to sources, Ismail from Narayanaraopeta in Atmakur mandal was studying in a government elementary school in the town.

He went to the school at around 7 am and left the bag and went for swimming in the tank which was dug for gravel at Undurugunta. He drowned in the tank and the incident came to light when passersby identified the dead body of the student.

On receiving the information, parents and police reached to the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem. A case was registered, said Atmakur SI Sk Khaji Babu.
