Rajamahendravaram: YSRCP city coordinator Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao has said government conducted a 10-day Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru prgramme as a TDP programme using government funds. The programme was aimed to praise Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and to publicise the party.

Speaking to reporters at Press Club here on Friday, Rao said the Chief Minister conducted the programme amid house arrests of opposition leaders. No opportunity was given to the people to pour their problems out in the programme. “How can the government conduct eight programmes in a day?,” he questioned.

As per the statistics of government, as many as 21 lakh petitions were received during the 4th and 5th Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru programme. A total of 10 lakh petitions were received by the 5th day of the event. Questioning how many problems have been addressed so far by the government, he said, “Chandrababu Naidu is trying to cheat people by assuring that the government will construct as many as 19 lakh houses before ensuing Assembly elections. How many houses were constructed in the state so far,” he questioned.

The YSRCP leader alleged that Naidu said that 4.5 lakh pensions and 2.5 lakh ration cards were sanctioned. The claims of Naidu were nothing but a lie. “So far, only 1,800 houses are constructed in the city as against of 4,335 houses sanctioned,” he said.

He charged Naidu with trying to bounce back to power post the 2019 Assembly elections by making impracticable promises. The YSRCP leader sought to know the number of promises fulfilled against the 600 election promises made.YSRCP leaders Medapati Sharmila Reddy, Majji Appa Rao, Majji Nukaratnam and Khan were seen at the event.
