5.58 cr for electrification of SC/ST colonies

Amaravati: The State government has sanctioned Rs 5.58 crore for electrification of SC and ST habitations and energisation of borewells under SC/ST Sub-Plan. The government allotted a total amount of Rs 3,769 crore in 2017-18 budget towards energisation of SC/ST borewells and electrification of Dalit colonies and provide two more LED bulbs to SC households.

However, the energy department had spent around Rs 9 crore for energisation of SC/ST borewells and Rs 17 crore for electrification of Rs SC/ST colonies so far this financial year. The energy department must spend another Rs 5.58 crore for the third quarter and the finance department has released the funds now.
