Ministers, leaders pay tributes to NTR

Guntur: Minister for Power and TDP state president Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao paid rich tributes to late Chief Minister N T Rama Rao on the occasion of the latter’s 22nd death anniversary programme held at  the TDP state office in Guntur on Thursday. 

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Minister said that the late chief minister N T Rama Rao had launched the party and given political career to many leaders and implemented several  schemes for the welfare of the poor.

The minister said that NTR, for the first time in the state, had implemented Rs 2-a-kg scheme for the welfare of poor and strove for the empowerment of women by giving them equal rights in their parents’ properties.  

Venkata Rao recalled that the former chief minister started constructing permanent houses for the poor. People will never forget the services of NTR to the state, he said.  Rao has said the government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is rendering medical services under the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust to the poor and implementing several welfare schemes. 

Minister for Women Welfare Paritala Sunitha said that former chief  minister  N T Rama Rao had launched TDP and came to power within nine months. She said that NTR had implemented several welfare schemes for the poor and was political guru to her husband Paritala Ravi.  

Similarly, drawing inspiration from him, the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is implementing several welfare schemes for the benefit of poor. The government is constructing permanent houses for all eligible poor, she said. 

MLA G V Anjaneyulu said that the party was conducting blood donation camps in all the districts in the state on the occasion of  NTR death anniversary. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is following the footsteps of NTR and implementing several welfare schemes, the MLA said.

Earlier, blood donation camp was conducted at the TDP office where several leaders donated blood.  Party programmes organising committee chairman VV Chowdary, MLCs Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad and A S Rama  Krishna and others participated in the meeting.
