Anantapur farmers to participate in seminar at Vizag

Anantapur: Several horticulture farmers and prospective food processing entrepreneurs from the district left for Visakhapatnam to participate in the two-day seminar on food processing sector. 

There are huge opportunities in the district as the district is known for its variety of horticulture plantations and many of them are being exported to countries abroad. Deputy Director of Horticulture Subbarayudu told The Hans India that the state government has identified food processing sector as vital for growth of state economy. 

The seminar is promoting food processing units, highlight policies and the huge opportunities in the sector. Experts and entrepreneurs would enrich the participants in the seminar and prospective entrepreneurs will give a boost to the fledging sector in the state. 

The AP Food and Processing Society working under the department of Industries and the AP government are unitedly organising the seminar. The AP Chamber of Industry and Commerce and ASSOCHAM are also playing a key role in promoting the food processing industry.
