District admin has big plans for horticulture farmers
Nalgonda: District Collector Gaurav Uppal stated that to benefit and encourage the lime, sweet lime and small guard farmers, the government has opened separate markets in the district.
The sweet lime market is located in Nalgonda while lime market is in Nakrekal and small gourd in PA Pally mandal in the district, he added. On Thursday, he reviewed the implementation of horticulture and sericulture schemes and discussed the Annual Comprehensive Plan 2018-19 in a district level meeting held at the Collectrorate in Nalgonda.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector directed the Horticulture and Marketing department officials to work in coordination to eradicate the menace of middlemen and guide the farmers properly to get MSP to their farm produce.
He instructed the officials to maintain transparency and follow rules and regulations while selecting the beneficiaries of schemes. He directed the officials to complete the last year pending drip installations on war footing and submit the bills within time schedule otherwise respective companies would be blacklisted. He called upon officials to strive hard to make the drip irrigation project a grand success in the district.
He directed the district Horticulture and Sericulture officer G. Sangitha Laxmi to write a letter to the Horticulture commissioner to increase the district existing target with regard to expansion of mosamabi gardens, recharge pits, horticulture equipment, sprayers, tarpaulins and establishing poly houses under comprehensive horticulture development scheme and State plan scheme.
On the occasion of review meeting district horticulture and sericulture official G. Sangeetha Laxmi gave power point presentation with regard to implementation of schemes and it’s status in the district.
DRDO Anjaiah, Nabarad AGM Daymrutha, DPD ( Atma) Nuthan Kumar, DOT center scientist Jagan Mohan Reddy , ADH Ashok Kumar, AD Sericulture, horticulture farmers, officers and others participated in the meeting.
