Fearing exams, SSC student ends life
Eluru: A 10th class student committed suicide by jumping before a running train at a track in Eluru on Saturday evening. According to railway police, Kada Harita (15) of the southern street in Eluru was studying 10th class in Kasturiba Municipal Corporation Girls High School in the one-town area.
Her father Kada Appa Rao is a carpenter and her mother Satyavati is working as a maid. Their first daughter got married recently and Harita was the second daughter.
According to relatives, Harita from the beginning was poor in education and the family members were concerned about her studies. The girl was worried over the 10th public examinations scheduled to be held in March and she feared failure in the examinations.
Tragically, she was found dead on the railway track at the flyover bridge at the jute mill. The police rushed to the spot and found the body of the girl. Subsequently, they informed her parents.
The railway police said that she might have jumped under a running train. They have sent the body for post-mortem and later handed it over it to the parents. Railway ASI P Simon is investigating the case.
