5 tonnes of PDS rice seized

Nellore: Venkatachalam police seized 5 tonnes of PDS rice that was being transported from Tamil Nadu to Nellore. Sub Inspector of Venkatachalam mandal was conducting routine checks at the tollgate on the national highway along with his team on Sunday.

He found suspicious movement of a vehicle and questioned the staff. He found 5 tonnes of PDS rice from Tamil Nadu was being shifted to Nellore. They seized the vehicle and took into custody the driver and cleaner for investigation.
