Konathala Ramakrishna to go on hunger strike
Visakhapatnam: Former Minister Konathala Ramakrishna said that demanding the Centre for sanction of special package funds for the development of north Andhra districts, he will observe a three-day hunger strike from January 27 to 29.
Ramakrishna, along with other leaders, will leave for New Delhi on January 27 and he will call off hunger strike in New Delhi on January 29. After performing special puja’s at Sampath Vinayagar temple in the city, speaking to the media, Ramakrishna said that the team would meet the MPs and other leaders in Delhi to explain the backwardness of north Andhra districts.
The Centre was allocating huge funds for the development of various areas in Odisha but released just Rs 50 crore to the north Andhra districts, he pointed out. Meanwhile, the long pending demand of the railway zone Visakhapatnam as headquarters was still pending with the government and there is no further development in this regard, Ramakrishna alleged.
