Anganwadi workers stage dharna

Rajamahendravaram: Hundreds of Anganwadi workers staged a dharna at the Sub-Collector's office here on Tuesday as part of nationwide mid-day meals workers’ strike with a demand not to cancel mid-day meal scheme.

The Anganwadi workers said that if the government set aside Anganwadi workers from mid-day meals system, many of them would face issues. They accused the government of making use of their services and now trying to hand over the mid-day meals scheme to others. “The protest would continue until the government fulfills our demand,” they averred.
