Vijayawada: The CPI party refused Governor ESL Narasimhan’s invitation for High Tea which is offered for all the political parties on the occasion of Republic Day. CPI state secretary Ramakrishna took objection over Governor showering praises on the state government and Chief Minister instead of questioning him to solve various problems.
The CPI leader alleged that corruption has reached the highest levels in the state; but government remained silent. The ruling party has been encouraging defections against the democratic norms, he said and wondered how the defected MLAs were inducted into state cabinet. He flayed the Governor for violating constitutional norms.
