Allot more seats to women in legislatures: Rajakumari
Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Mahila Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari demanded the political parties to allot more seats to women in the legislative houses to encourage women.
In a message on the even of International Women’s Day on March 8, Rajakumari reminded that the state government had already passed the Women’s Reservation Bill and sent it to the Centre for taking further action but there was no response from the Centre.
Rajakumari said that though women are working hard and excelling in all fields, attacks on women were on the rise. She said that TV serials and social media are lowering the image of women and felt that there is a need to check it.
She further said that women should become President and the Prime Minister of the country. She reminded that women are excelling as entrepreneurs and added that at present, women who excelled in various fields are being felicitated.
