MBT condemns AP CM’s statement on Surya Namaskar

Old City: MBT condemns Chandrababu Naidu’s order making Surya Namaskar compulsory in all Masjids in Andhra Pradesh.During a press conference, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu said that Surya Namaskar will be made compulsory in all institutions including Mandir, Masjid, Churches and Gurudwaras from January 28. 

MBT Spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan condemn the statement of N Chandra Babu Naidu and said the statement has been made to appease the Hindu voters keeping in line his friendship with BJP. Khan said that a Muslim will only bow itself only in front of Allah and cannot bow himself to any other god than Allah.

 Khan said that forcing Muslims to practise Surya Namaskar itself is a violation of Sec 25 to 30 of fundamental rights guaranteed to minorities by Constitution of India. Khan said previously such type of orders were issued by BJP ruled Govt of Madhya Pradesh in 2009 and Rajasthan during 2015 which were struck down by Madhya Pradesh & Rajasthan High Courts. Khan advised to N Chandra Babu Naidu to take back his orders immediately or else his order will also be challenged by MBT in Andhra Pradesh High Court.
