Sports should be part of daily routine for employees
Kakinada: Sports should be a part of an employee’s daily routine and mental relaxation would come to them if they take part in sports, said Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar.
He participated as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the three-day 5th revenue employees’ sports meet at the District Sports Authority Stadium here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports would help in developing team spirit and also help employees in discharging their duties properly and achieve good results.
The Chief Secretary pointed out that the revenue employees secure immense pleasure discharging their duties than employees of other departments and hailed organisation of a sports meet for their relaxation. Dinesh Kumar said though the State was facing problems following bifurcation, it has been achieving planned growth through coordinated efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, East Godavari District Collector Kartikeya Mishra said that the district administration made extensive arrangements for the three-day sports meet.
AP Revenue Association president Bopparaju Venkateswarlu informed that the State government has sanctioned a five-day leave for the employees. He said that including CCLA team nearly 2,000 employees were taking part in the meet. He further expressed his happiness over formation of grievance day for the revenue employees in the State.
Later, the Chief Secretary unfurled the national flag while Collector Kartikeya Mishra unfurled the revenue flag and JC Mallikarjuna unfurled the sports flag of the meet. Collector Mishra lit the sports torch. Later, march-past was held at the sports meet.
Vijayanagaram stood first in the march past while Kurnool and East Godavari secured second and third positions respectively. ITDA PO Abhishikth Kishore, Rajahmundry Sub-Collector Saikanth Varma, Rampachodavaram Sub-Collector Vinod Kumar and others participated.
