Allied with BJP for state development, says Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati: Key decision on TDP-BJP alliance will be taken based on the political developments, said TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu in a video conference with TDP leaders on Thursday. He interacted with leaders from his residence at Undavalli , in which ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs and others participated.
Naidu told the leaders that he continued the alliance with BJP since he expected some financial assistance to the state from the Central government. If they did not give any assistance for development of the state, there was no reason to continue the alliance, he observed and added that he would take important decision very soon.
The Chief Minister asked the party leaders to explain the facts behind the 27-page note released by BJP leaders, which contained only allocations made but not released. Awareness should be created among public on difference between allocation, sanction, release and commitments of funds.
He said that a mere allocation or giving commitment would not enough and the funds must be released for the development of the state. Reacting to Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan’s joint fact-finding committee, Naidu said that they were fighting for state development and it was not a problem for the TDP.
He further suggested that whatever information the committee sought from the government be provided while noting that all the information they asked for was s available on government websites. “There is no need to release a white paper by state government. We are providing all the information in public domain.
We are placing information on websites from time to time, including on Polavaram project. If they want to know about the funds released to state by the Central government, then they need to ask the Central government to release white paper,” he said.
On YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s announcement of party MPs quitting House, he said Jagan had started another drama. “The Election Commission would not conduct byelections within six months, hence they are resigning. Jagan announced that they would resign on last day of Parliament, which explains their lack of commitment,” he said.
Reacting to ‘richest CM’ tag, he said he had transferred all the assets on his family members’ name before assuming office as Chief Minister. He said he does not fear the Central government and was not facing any criminal cases.
“It is Jagan and his party members who are afraid of CBI and other pending cases, since investigation is going on in a speedy manner. Jagan has to explain why has he been attending court on every Friday,” he said.
