Militia members surrender

Visakhapatnam: One Maoist and three militia members surrendered before Superintendent of Police Visakhapatnam Rural Rahul Dev Sharma here on Friday.

The surrendered were identified as Vanthala Laxman Rao (28) alias Dasu, Pangi Laxman aka Venkat (25), P Sambra (18) and P Relli Babu (18). The militia members supported the Maoists during their operations, including cutting of trees and distribution of pamphlets of the Maoists.  

While producing the Maoists before the media, Rahul Dev Sharma appealed to the Maoists to join the main stream as there are no Maoist leaders in Galikonda Dalam.

Not only combing operations, but also police in association with the other departments implementing several welfare and development programmes in Galikonda and surrounding areas, the SP said and also assured to provide rehabilitation to the surrendered Maoists.
