Woman stages protest in front of hubby’s house

Srikakulam: A woman staged a protest against husband for deserting her, along with her family members, in front of her husband’s house at PN Colony here on Friday.

According to reports, K Gayatri Durga of Vizianagaram district headquarters married to K Srinivasa Rao of Srikakulam on August 19, 2014. After marriage, they led conjugal life for some years and later disputes erupted between them.

Both the families unable to come settle issues amicably before the elders also. Finally, Gayatri was forced to leave her in-laws house. As a last resort, parents of Gayatri, K Surya Prakash Rao, K Saroja Devi and her brother K Surya Narayana Murthy staged the protest.

On learning about it, local colony elder and CPM leader Ch Sampoornamma, women and child welfare department officer K Nirmala, Two Town sub-inspectors Y Ravi Kiran and V Vani Sree reached the spot and started negotiations.

Police told them to lodge a complaint against in-laws in order to take necessary action against them. On the other hand, in-laws of Gayatri reportedly said that cases for divorce and maintenance are pending in the court.
