Cabinet nod to pay 1,244.36 cr to Navayuga
Amaravati: The State Cabinet gave administrative sanction to pay Rs 1,244.36 crore to Navayuga Engineering Company which took over the execution of concrete works of the Polavaram Project recently.
Addressing the media after the Cabinet meeting here on Wednesday, information and Public Relations Minister Kalava Srinivasulu said the company agreed to take up works as per 2015-16 SSR rates and both the Centre and the State government approved the proposal.
The Cabinet also gave its nod to spend an amount of Rs 4,188.71 crore on externally aided projects being implemented by Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in 42 municipalities and appointed Public Health and Medical Engineering department as the single executing agency.
The Cabinet also approved the draft bill to provide autonomy to AP Economic Development Board (APEDB) with a view to create investment friendly environment in the State. The bill also intends to provide autonomy to State Investment Promotion Board and State Investment Promotion Committee.
The proposals to set up family entertainment centres in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati have been approved by the Cabinet and SPI Cinemas Private Ltd will take up the project. Under the project, convention centres, food courts, I-Max theatres with six screens and three-star hotels will be built. The State government will provide land and AP Tourism Development Corporation will bear the initial expenditure for the project.
The Cabinet also gave its nod to fill 350 vacant posts in Anti-Corruption Bureau, Senior Civil Judge and other posts in Gannavaram Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court and the post of a Public Relations Officer to Assembly Speaker. Land was allotted to Urdu Junior College in Vijayawada and 44.97 acres in Ranasthalam of Srikakulam district for APIIC.
