MP demands white paper on grounded projects

Hyderabad: Ongole YSRC MP YV Subba Reddy ridiculed the claims of the state government that investments were flowing into the state like a deluge in the wake of MoUs being signed at the Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam.

In a statement here on Sunday, the MP said that he had his own doubts over the investments flowing into the state and wanted the government to publish a white paper on how many have been grounded so far.

“Of the 1,000 MoUs signed which promised an investment of Rs 15 lakh crores in the last two years, how many have actually come?, he asked and stated that the partnership summit and the exercise of MoU signing are fake.

Inviting big shots like Adani would not be of any help unless they make investments here. Though Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu saying that the state was on a growth trajectory and that the GSDP was soaring, no tangible effect in terms of investment could be felt, the MP said.

``In the last three and a half years, the state had got nothing, but Naidu has become the richest chief minister in the country,’’ Subba Reddy said.  ``In my Prakasam district, the number of the unemployed youth is one lakh. Where are the industries if the state is really on the road to development?” he asked.
