Woman murdered, miscreants flee with booty

Visakhapatnam: Miscreants murdered a 75-year-old woman Ratna Bharathi, who was residing at a multistoreyed building, made away with her gold ornaments at East Point Colony in Chinna Waltair on Tuesday. She was staying alone as her daughters were working in Srikakulam.

The incident came into light after one of her relatives who is also residing in the first floor went to meet her in the morning. As there is no response from inside, with the help of the others, he opened the doors forcibly and found her dead.

Police rushed to the spot and started investigation. The miscreants got entry into the house from rear side window. Later, they fled the spot after stealing gold ornaments and other valuables. Joint Commissioner of Police D Nagendra Kumar, Crime DCP Semushi Bajpaee, ACP Narasimham went to the spot and probing into the incident.
