The academic activities were paralysed in varsities as students have boycotted classes and took out rallies in their respective campuses demanding the BJP-led NDA government to accord SCS to AP.

The students raised slogans against the Modi government. Addressing the protestors at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), DYFI district secretary Jayachandra came down heavily on the BJP-led NDA government at centre for cheating the people of Andhra Pradesh by announcing special package to the state in the place of SCS. But, the centre had sanctioned meagre funds, he slammed.

The DYFI leader found fault with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for compromising on SCS when all other political parties except BJP were demanding SCS. He stated Chandrababu had changed his stand on SCS bowing to pressure from public.

SFI district secretary Madan Krishna has lambasted central and state governments for neglecting the truncated state for the last four years. The SFI leader lamented that youth in the state are jobless after state bifurcation. DYFI district president Sandeep, SFI city president Sridhar, and other
