‘Create awareness among villagers on digital literacy’
Kakinada: Collector Karthikeya Mishra directed the officials to create digital literacy awareness among 2.50 lakh people in the district under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharata Abhiyan (PMGDISHA). Reviewing progress of digital literacy and PMGDISHA at district-level meeting at the collectorate here on Saturday, Mishra said the officials should create awareness programmes and train people in villages from 14 to 60 years age in using smart phones, e-mails, tablet computers and internet.
Mishra told the officials to choose a centre in every village to train them on internet using and in digital literacy. He suggested the officials that they should train the members of self-help groups, Anganwadi workers and the students of class IX and X. He also suggested the training should be extended to rural youth and Sadhikarata Mitra activists in the district.
Mishra informed that nearly 17,568 persons registered to undergo digital literacy training and among them 7,671 persons completed the training and received certificates. Mishra told that every person should be trained for 20 hours and the training should be completed in three months. JC Mallikarjuna, ZP CEO Govinda Rao, DEO Abraham, DIO Sayyad Usman, ICDS P D Seetha Mahalakshmi and CSC district manager Aditya participated.
