MTF demands promotion of municipal teachers
Vijayawada: Municipal Teachers Federation (MTF) state president S Ramakrishna on Saturday demanded that the government take measures to resolve the legal hurdles to give promotions to 1,200 municipal teachers working in various districts in the state. He said 1,200 teachers had been waiting for promotions for the past six months. He said some officials in the education department are creating hurdles and preventing the promotions.
He addressed the general body meeting of MTF organised at the Revenue Services Association Hall in Governorpet. He warned that the MTF would launch agitation if the government fails to respond to their demand. MTF leaders and functionaries from 13 districts of the state attended the state-level meeting.
Amaravati APJAC chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu demanded that the government respond to the demands of the municipal teachers. MTF general secretary M Ravi Siddharth and others also spoke on the occasion.
