Jagan yatra crosses 1,400km
Addanki (Prakasam district): The Prajasankalpa Yatra, a 3,000km walkathon by the opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy crossed 1,400km milestone in the district on Monday.
On 104th day of yatra, Jaganmohan Reddy started his walk at the night camp on the outskirts of Addanki town from 1,398.4 km mark in the morning and finished the day at Takkellapadu after walking another 16.3km by the evening.
A large number of people joined Jaganmohan Reddy in his walk and extended support for his stand on the Special Category Status and the fight of YSCRP leaders at New Delhi. The YSR Congress Party Doctors wing president Dr Sivabharat Reddy and other members joined the walk for a few metres before it reached 1,400km mark at Nagulapadu.
Jaganmohan Reddy planted a sapling to mark the occasion and hoisted his party flag. He promised the locals reintroduction and perfect implementation of schemes that were popular in his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s period.
Later, a few physiotherapists extended support to the padayatra and the YSRCP fight for SCS. On Tuesday, Jaganmohan Reddy will start the walk at Takkellapadu and pass through J Panguluru, Arikatlavaripalem in Addanki Assembly constituency and enter Gangavaram of Parchuru constituency before lunch. He will reach Inkollu to address a public meeting before taking rest for the day.
