Chief Minister misleading Kapus, alleges Jagan
Jaggampeta (East Godavari): YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy accused Chief MinisterN Chandrababu Naidu of misleading Kapu community on extension of reservation facility. Addressing a large gathering in the Kapu dominated area on the 222th day of his PrajaSankalpa Yatra on Saturday, Jagan alleged Naidu betrayed the interests of Kapus by making false promises.
He said the political leaders should not mislead the people with false promises and added Naidu knows very well about the provisions of reservation that falls under the purview of Centre and the state could not do anything on the issue. Turning his attention towards the promise of Rs1,000 crore per year for the welfare of Kapus, the YSRCP chief said that not even one-fourth of this promised amount which comes to Rs 4,000 crore in the last four years, has been spent for the welfare of these sections.
Commenting on the misuse of Neeru- Chettu programme in the district, Jagan observed that corruption took place largely in the entire activity. In total, 90 tanks were dug and the soil was sold by TD activist to the farmers for Rs 9 crore instead of supplying it at free of cost. Turning his attention towards MSP for paddy, Jagan said the farmers were not getting even Rs 1200 per bag though the MSP was fixed at Rs 1,560 per bag.
Taking a dig at turncoats from Jaggampeta, MLA Jyotula Nehru and East Godavari ZP chairman Jyotula Naveen, the YSRC leader said the two left the YSRC citing the development as the reason for their crossing to TDP. Jagan said the Jaggampeta community health centre and degree college were started during former chief minister YSRajasekhara Reddy regime and are still incomplete.
