Civic chief promises basic facilities at municipal school
Kurnool: CB Harinath Reddy, Commissioner of the Kurnool Municipal Corporation, has instructed the officials to take steps for creating amenities at Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Memorial Municipal High School.
He along with the office and school staff inspected the school surroundings and facilities on Monday morning. Later, speaking to The Hans India, said that the school has been named after the death of Damodaram Sanjeevaiah, the former Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh.
Several students, who have pursued education in this school, are holding good positions in the society. Such renowned school is lacking basic facilities, he stated. As part of Swachh Survekshan, the entire Kurnool is being transformed into smart city and creating amenities at government schools is also one of the priorities.
The Commissioner said that the officials are advised to construct a modern toilet besides some more toilets based on the strength of the students. He assured school staff that civic staff are taking steps to create all sorts of facilities to the students, he stated.
Accompanied by the school staff, Harinath Reddy inspected the school surroundings and directed them to dispose the garbage immediately without making delay. He also advised them to plant tree saplings and direct the students to rear them by watering them daily during playing hours.
The Commissioner also inspected the traffic snarls from C Camp Circle to Nandyal Check Post and up to Gayathri Estate accompanied with the officials of traffic and Roads and Buildings (R&B) department.
