No specific fund allocation for capital construction
Amaravati: The State government did not announce any specific fund release plan for the construction of Amaravati capital city. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has only mentioned that capital city development works which are under progress are estimated at a cost of Rs 45,000 crore. He also said that the capital would be developed as green field city and it would be a model for other cities across the globe.
The government has also claimed that the progress on Amaravati development works was excellent. The construction of people’s capital Amaravati reached the crucial stage, he said and added that the city would witness huge developments.
However, Rs 7,741 crore has been allocated for Municipal Administration and Urban development along with Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). The CRDA has taken the responsibility of construction of Amaravati capital city.
The government did not mention clearly about funds allocation for capital construction. It is not clear whether the funds which are allocated for CRDA could be utilised for capital construction or not. The government did not reveal in the budget.
