Women should be respected in society
Kakinada: The District Collector Kartikeya Mishra on Thursday stated that women should be respected in society as they strive continuously for the welfare of the family. He participated as the chief guest at the International Women’s Day celebrations organised by the Women and Child Welfare Department at the JNTU auditorium.
After lighting the lamp to begin the celebrations, Collector Mishra suggested that all the women should unite for their rights and gender equality. He stated that everyone should respect women on all the days in all the seasons in all the countries; and not only on the specific days allotted for women. Mishra also suggested that everybody should follow the reservation norms in the elections assigned for women.
The ASP, DSP, DRO, Commissioner and Mayor all are women and in high positions and doing well in their respective fields, he said. He urged the parents that they should educate their girl children and offer them equal opportunities.
